A Totally Normal World

Once upon a time - and twice on Sundays.

So would the Tribes like to come to Wicked Faire?

If so...what would you, as Tribes, like to be able to do there?

(Please let your friends know this post is here, as your responses will be important to the planning of the event!)

Hmmm, true. I like the idea, maybe, of using upstairs for a secondary stage. The secondary stage where we had WEB and stuff, we can't do that again, there wasn't even standing room in that corner and it would have been nice to, you know, sit down.

We could use the gallery for the artists and authors and cartoonists and use the ballroom for 18+. That is a good idea.

Hah this is the last event before I turn 18.
Ha. hahaha. Whee!

Or we could move the main stage into the gallery, and use that additional space for vendors (since we are planning on having many, many more vendors this time around). And mix the authors and artists in with the vendors, which many of them tend to prefer.

Just a thought. As I was not at TNE. Maybe the secondary rooms should be more emphasized as an after hours type thing? Let WF do it's thing and then draw people in to stay later. Just a thought.

Just my two cents…

I don’t think having dedicated Tribe rooms is a good idea for WF since it would take space away from other aspects (demos, panels, etc.) of WF people expect to see. Having Tribe related events would work, but not dedicated rooms.

Having two vending rooms, one regular and one 18+, works pretty damned well for WF. And I agree that using the main hall for the regular vendors and the Hanover for the 18+ makes the most sense. Plus you want to keep all the vendors on the same floor near each other to give them the best possible foot traffic, which increases the sales.

Keep the artists, authors and cartoonists with the vendors. Separating them cuts their potential foot traffic down significantly. They’re in this to make money so give them the best opportunity to do so.

If the gallery is big enough to hold the main stage events I would say go for it. This would open up the other room to accommodate more vendors.

Having all of the demos, tribe related events and panels upstairs also make a lot of sense. The space lends itself for this kind of stuff. Keeping it in one central location also helps keep the flow of attendees up.

Putting the secondary stage upstairs also make a lot of sense, as pointed out it can be the major draw to bring folks up there. That and keeping them in the vending space is a bad idea due to the sound levels. It made it very difficult to talk to customers, which made it difficult to make sales.
