A Totally Normal World

Once upon a time - and twice on Sundays.

we need to start organizing who is going to bring what.
I am thinking of making certain activities (Sarah's secret message service, Sloonan's mini golf, a possibly a jedi lightsaber picture booth, etc) low cost pay to play activities. The idea will be to try to cover some of the expenses, and if we manage to make a profit, give it to Jeff as part of the SPARC donation.
As such
1) keep receipts on anything you buy to see if we can try to get you reimbursed. If we can't do a full reimbursement, I will try to do at least a proportional reimbursement.
2) please only buy stuff for things we've talked about and ok'ed. I would love to have a $1000 Van Graf generator to play with here, but we will not make enough money to cover it, so I cannot ask anyone to buy it.
3) if you can grab it and bring it, please respond so we know

I'm busy with dissertation stuff, so I'm going to have to rely on you guys for brainstorming equipment needs. If I've forgotten about a project please add it to the list as well.

I should warn you from past experience as a cashier at Wicked Events... you're going to need A CRAPLOAD of change available (which means money laid out to have it in advance) if you decide to go with these prices!

I'll have a vending table, so I'll be getting change at a bank anyway

Indeed. You'll need way more dimes, nickels, quarters, than usual though, was all I was saying. (I imagine *most* of your regular vending items end in or nearly-in whole dollar amounts, it's the 25 cents or 5 cent things that would be more of a hassle to make change for, I think). Although, I do think you're right, I don't think we could charge a dollar for most of those.

do you have any price suggestions?

Duct tape I can do. Most of what I've got laying around is bits of electronics, though, and while that's fun I don't see that a soldering iron is going to go over real well with the fire marshal. I have a Pinky & The Brain poster I could bring for decorating...

what options are available for heatless connections?

Might they make neat items for the Frankenstein Prop contest, which wouldn't require any soldering, just creative imagination? :)

Radios needed

because we won't have a full sound system, I'm going to do the mad science thing and hack together a system. essentially, I'm bringing an FM transmitter, and hooking it up to the sound source. any radio within 30' will pick up the signal when set to the right frequency.

also needed:
Power strips and extension cords
