Even though we are in the Makers tribe we were randonly brainstorming and Amanda and I had an idea for MEGA poetry (similar to the magnetic poetry on fridges) but big, something that could be put on the wall and changed as people come in and out of the room. We thought it would fit with your group really well if you wanted to do it.
One really easy way to do this (though it's less *changeable* but people can add to it...) would be taping big rolls/sheets of butcher paper onto the walls around the room, and then letting people write/draw on it with markers or crayons.
Or if you want to make it changeable, put up the butcher paper or posterboard and use velcro dots to move phrases (also posterboard with velcro on them)
Ok - I'm loving this idea. It's a fantastic way to add a level of interactivity to the wall.
Key to this is figuring out the way to adhere these words to the room and have them be movable. The two ways I can conceive of that aren't going to hurt the hotel itself are masking tape or possibly fun-tack.
If we can get this idea working - it's a done deal.
Okay, I was wrong. After another visit to the hotel.... The room has *three* normal walls, and one wall of windows. But I had the general idea right? heh.
My mom used to have a whole bunch of pumpkins, hearts, snowflakes, etc. But I don't ever remember letters. ...I bet a Teacher Store would have them, maybe?
I was going to offer my magnet poetry words (I have a slew of them... I think they reproduced on my fridge). Problem is, I don't think there's anything big and metal we can put them on...
